Megaplier Feature on Ticket Multiplied Original Winnings
Maryland Lottery players who purchased Mega Millions tickets in Montgomery County should check their tickets. Although there was no jackpot winner last night, a $1 million Mega Millions second-tier ticket with the added Megaplier feature was sold at Damascus Liberty, located at 26241 Ridge Rd. in Damascus. For selling the winning ticket, Damascus Liberty will receive a $2,500 bonus.
The Megaplier feature, which began last October and costs an extra dollar, allows Mega Millions players to multiply their non-jackpot wins by up to four times the regular amount. Second-tier winners, who hit with the Megaplier feature on their ticket, increase their $250,000 to $1 million. There was no jackpot win last night, making Friday night’s drawing worth $16 million.
This was the eighth Mega Millions second-tier winning ticket sold in the state this year. Last month, an Annapolis man claimed the only other second-tier $1 million Megaplier-featured ticket sold in Maryland. The following $250,000 unclaimed tickets were purchased at Village Win in Baltimore on May 3rd and Riverdale BP in Riverdale on March 26th. Winners have 182 days from the drawing date to claim the prize.
The multi-state Mega Millions game is played in 43 jurisdictions. Mega Millions drawings can be seen on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 11:22 pm on WBAL-TV, Channel 11.
