$250K Mega Millions Second-Tier Ticket Sold in Laurel

Wednesday, August 17th, 2011

A lucky Maryland Lottery player woke up a little happier today.  A $250,000 second-tier Mega Millions ticket was purchased in Maryland from last night’s drawing.   The winning ticket was purchased at Pete’s Liquors, located at 13462 Baltimore Ave. in Laurel.  To win the second-tier prize, the player matched every number except the Mega Ball.  Since no winning jackpot ticket was sold, Friday night’s drawing will be worth $32 million, with a cash option of $22.2 million.  Last night’s winning numbers were 4, 38, 41, 42, 43 and Mega Ball 44.

This is the 14th second-tier Mega Millions winner in Maryland this year.  Along with the current winner, tickets sold at Riverdale BP in Riverdale on March 26th and Lucky’s Superette in Edgewater also remain unclaimed.  All prizes must be claimed within 182 days of the drawing date.

The multi-state Mega Millions game is played in 42 jurisdictions – including Maryland, Virginia, Delaware and the District of Columbia. Mega Millions drawings can be seen on Tuesday and Friday evenings at 11:22 pm on WBAL-TV, channel 11.
