Jerry DePasquale of Hebron won $50,000 playing the Maryland Lottery’s Bonus Match 5 game.

Takes Home Bonus Match 5 Top Prize

Although Jerry DePasquale is a regular Maryland Lottery player, he almost missed out on a $50,000 win. While at his local convenience store, he contemplated purchasing tickets for that night’s Bonus Match 5 drawing. In the end, the Hebron resident was thrilled with his decision to buy $6 worth of tickets, ultimately making him $50,000 richer.

Jerry returned to the store on March 7 to check his ticket. Once there, he scanned it on the quick-check machine and saw a message directing him to Lottery headquarters to claim his prize. He consulted the clerk, who told him that she believed he won $50,000. Jerry happily left the store and was walking to his car when the clerk came running out after him.

“She said that the Lottery had just called and that it was confirmed,” said the 60-year-old retiree. “I was a $50,000 winner!”

The New York native plans to use some of his winnings to travel north to see his kids and grandchildren. Jerry also looks forward to planning a trip to Disney World with the grandkids. He bought his winning ticket at Shore Stop at 27430 Ocean Gateway in Hebron.
