niazi: It is encouraged that you sign the back of your tickets.

  • kathy cressotti

My ? Is do you use the same tickets for all 4 drawlings or do you send tickets in before every drawling

    • mdlottery

kathy: All entries that are submitted for the 40 rubies second-chance are eligible for each drawing.

  • Pat Smith

Does anyone know if the 2nd Chance ticket needs to be signed when it is mailed it in? I tried to reach the customer service phone number and had no luck getting through to a live person for an answer. Thanks.

    • mdlottery

Pat: We encourage all players to sign the back of their tickets once the purchase is made.

  • mdlottery

Marshella: Thank you for visiting us at the Wine in the Woods event. As you mentioned, we did not give away any gift cards at that specific event. We will be giving players the opportunity to win $40 Visa gift cards at upcoming events, including the Aberdeen Ironsbirds game on July 12, the Maryland State Fair in August and more. Do you have to mail it or can they be dropped off at a lottery office?

my entry came back undelivered although i had the exact address from the back of the card on my envelope. Can someone tell me what is going on?

    • mdlottery

Becky: Our only suggestion is trying to resend it in an envelope. See the 40 Rubies 2nd Chance official rules for details.

I entered about 6 separate 40 Rubies entries. I just received one of those back in the mail returned to me as undelivered. The address I have on the envelope is the same as on the back of the card and on the website:

    40 Rubies 2nd Chance Contest
Maryland State Lottery and Gaming Control Agency
    P.O. Box 27103
    Baltimore, MD 21230-0103

I’m not sure what is going on but I will attempt to mail it again. Now I’m out one envelope and one stamp in addition to the $10 I spent on the losing ticket. I sure hope none of my other tickets come back but the same address was used on those too. I mailed 4 others on the same day.

    • Maryanne

Same thing happened to me but I had 12 come back, all had correct address on them……..

Why would you have a place on the ticket for people to place a stamp on the ticket, if you want them in envelops. This is the first time knowing that ticket are to be place in envelops. This need to be clearly stated on the lottery ticket, because I sent in all my non winning tickets without at envelop. What a waste of time and stamps!!!! What a scam!

    • mdlottery

Ty: You have the choice of how you want to submit your entry. Good luck.

  • teresa

I sent approximately 25 entries in by just putting a stamp on the ticket. Does this mean that none of the entries that I sent in will be used for the drawing?

    • mdlottery

teresa: Entries with just a stamp and entries sent within an envelope will be accepted. Your entries will be eligible for the drawing.

  • Maryanne

I didn’t know you had to send these tickets in envelopes, I have sent in many tickets, will all these be rejected…

    • mdlottery

Maryanne: Entries sent via envelope or with just a stamp on the non-winning ticket will be accepted.

  • mdlottery

Marshella: Everyone who attended the BMI event received a nice Lottery gift bag. In addition, gift cards were randomly placed under chairs at different tables. At one point, a Lottery representative announced on the microphone for everyone to look under their chairs to see if they won. We do not have gift cards for every person that attends these events.

  • mdlottery

Leon: Per the rules, we require all entries be sent in an envelope.

    • Marshella

Then why does it state in the information above, and according to the rules, that they CAN be mailed with just a stamp on the back of the ticket – plus name, etc, filled out? Are the rules changing? Do I have now to worry that any of my prior entries, sent without an envelope, were discarded and not entered???

      • mdlottery

Marshella: We were mistaken. You can use either method to deliver your entry. All of your previous entries will be included in the drawings.

  • anthony frisco jr

why do you need to send ticket in an envelope , when the address to the md. state lottery is right beow your info.?

    • mdlottery

Anthony: We commend you send it in an envelope because your entry is less likely to be lost in the mail or stolen before it arrives at MDLottery headquaters.

  • pam

can you put more than one entry in the envelope

    • mdlottery

pam: Please send in each entry in its own envelope. The Lottery will not separate entries. Good luck.

  • http://www.facebook.com/mysweetstang Billy Joe Smith

the ticket is too large for a standard Buss envelope-I had to fold the envelope to make it seal. Envelope bought at PO- it is a standard envelope.

  • mdlottery

tommy: A Lottery representative will contact you with the information provided within your entry if you are a winner.

  • mdlottery

wallace: We will post the winners shortly after the drawing.

In addition, we will host live events to announce who won each prize. Please see the event calendar above for the schedule.

  • mdlottery

Darrin: They are only eligible for the next drawing date.
