Takes Home Top Prize on Bonus 3s Scratch-off
An Anne Arundel County teacher, from Millersville, won $30,000 playing the Bonus 3s scratch-off this past weekend. She purchased the ticket at a local Safeway, and scratched it while she was getting a pedicure at a salon next door.
The lucky winner said she decided to play that specific ticket after seeing a graphic of the new scratch-off on the Lottery monitor at the store. She purchased one Powerball ticket and one Bonus 3s scratch-off. She then went to get a pedicure, which is when she scratched the ticket and revealed the $30,000 win. She took it back to the Lottery retailer and was told to visit Lottery headquarters.
“I couldn’t believe it,” said the 31-year-old. “I got really emotional and started crying.” With her winnings, the mother-of-two plans to conduct some home improvement, buy a new wedding ring and save the rest. The ticket was purchased at Safeway on 540 Benfield Road in Severna Park. The game, which just launched on October 31, still has five top-prizes of $30,000 remaining.
