Clinton Teacher Wins $50,000 Bonus Match 5 Prize

Friday, May 4th, 2012

A Clinton woman woke up one recent morning with a lucky feeling. Instead of ignoring the feeling, she purchased Lottery tickets and proceeded to win a $50,000 top-tier Bonus Match 5 prize.

The Prince George’s County resident’s strategy was to play the same numbers every day for a week.  When describing her plan, she said “For some reason, I just felt lucky and knew I had to act on it.  I wanted to play my numbers for a block of time.”  The 56-year-old followed her normal routine, having no idea she was carrying a $50,000 winning ticket, and went to a craft club gathering after work.  She then went home, did a few chores and sat down to relax with the paper and check the Bonus Match 5 numbers. The excited winner began checking her numbers, one at a time and couldn’t believe it when every number matched. The winner immediately called her sister to share the good news. Her sister shouted, “You’d better not be kidding me!”

With her winnings, she plans to tip the Lottery clerk who sold her the winning ticket.  She also plans to donate to her church, Feed the Children, and the Humane Society.

The winning Bonus Match 5 ticket was sold by the Conventry Way Exxon store, located at 6441 Conventry Way in Clinton.

It’s always good to read stories about people winning the lottery in the PG County and Charles County areas. I am so happy for her. Look out for my good fortune story next.
