Claims $50,000 Scratch-off Prize
The amiable 38-year-old buys Maryland Lottery scratch-offs nearly every day, often at his wife’s behest. Both he and his spouse are avid fans of instant tickets and they were enjoying their Lottery play this past Saturday when he discovered their good fortune.
“I scratched the ticket and told my wife, ‘I think we won $50,000,’” said the winner. He then had her check the ticket. “She checked it like 100 times and said ‘well, it’s about time,’”
The military employee appeared calm about his newfound wealth, but said that he and his wife were excited to have an extra $50,000 to spend. His better half has definite plans for their winnings. “She’s going to redo the kitchen,” he said. “I’m not going to see any of this money,” the father-of-one added good-naturedly. The winning ticket was purchased at Kokos Deli, located at 7060 Oakland Mills Rd. in Columbia.
