  • aletha b. moore

why do always winners in baltomore or

    counties around baltimore wins?

    • mdlottery

aletha: The geographic locations of our winners are random. There is no way to predict where the winners will be. However, research tells us that more winners come from areas of the State in which more people are playing. Please take a look at our winners stories. There you’ll see that we have winners from all over the State.

  • Tina

This is always how it works. Always north only three in southern MD. We always donate and Baltimore and north always get rich.

  • Dick Horn

Truly amazing that 22 of 53 winners were Baltimore applicants. The total prize paid out was $450,000 where is the other $1,550,000
of the 2 million dollar logo search? I guess it went to lottery employees in BALTIMORE too.

    • mdlottery

Dick: Thanks for writing in. I’ll try to address each of your concerns.

Secondly, although the grand prizes total adds up to $450,000, we called it the $2 million logo hunt because throughout the life of the promotion we gave out more than $1.55 million in free game plays for a total of over $2 million back to players.

Lastly, as MSLA employees we are unable to play any Lottery games so none of the money goes to us. Any prizes that go unclaimed from all of our games go into the “unclaimed prize fund”, which by Maryland state law is required to go back to players through promotions like this.

Hope this helps. Good luck in the future.

Ty: Please remember, the Lottery is a game of chance and meant only as a form of entertainment and recreation. No one should depend on the Lottery to supplement their income. If you feel that you may have a problem with gambling, Maryland has resources available for you. Please call 1-800-522-4700 to speak confidentially with someone who can help you access various services including financial help, support groups, and counseling.

  • tai nguyen

I don’t know why every time drawing the tickets for second chance, it is almost all winners from Baltimore (every game). I don’t think whenever the person drew the envelop out, he or she did not mix well. Maybe anyone is lucky and the envelopes stay on top will be picked. How can you mix all the envelop well from top to the bottom? Please tell me how your procedure to draw. thanks.

    • mdlottery

tai: The 45,000+ entries for the Logo Hunt were packed into rubbermaid totes. They all were dumped into a drawing drum and the winners were selected from there. All drawings, including the Logo Hunt, adhere to strict procedures and guidelines. They are videotaped and witnessed by numerous representatives, including an independent Auditor and Security Official to keep the integrity of the game intact.

    • Denise

      I can’t win nothing! Bummer!!

  • April Veasey

I just think its pretty sad that all the winners are from baltimore.I think you should have a limit on how you pick names. There should be some from each city like elkton.I mean come on!

WHY do all of the big contest winner come from Baltimore,Glen Burnie, Dundalk, Just like Logo Hunt. 45% Balitmore ????????

    • mdlottery

Jim: Thanks for writing in. We get this comment a lot. People living in Baltimore believe all the winners are elsewhere and vice versa. all i want to no is if my tickets ever made it to lottery headqauters because if not somebody needs to look into what could be some wrong doings because the way i see it maryland has aloy of citys and alot of people who iam sure mail in entrys besides bmore and they had like 20 or 21 winners out of fifty-three alone something seems very weired about that to me

    • mdlottery

jerry: We had over 45,000 entries into the contest. We do not have the man power to go through each entry to confirm receipt for each player. In the future, my suggestion would be to send your mail-in entries by USPS certified mail. There is a increased cost associated with certified mail, but you would receive verification that we did receive the entry. With that said, if you’re entry was postmarked correctly my gut tells me that you were included in the drawing.

  • http://marylandlotteryokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokokok. carol needs to know

Why is it I play everyday both midday and evening, and my numbers don’t hit????? I have been playing 921 & 216 for over a year, and neither of them have came out…..Are they being held out???? I really do think the lottery is fixed….Also please get rid of stash is is very annoying….thanks

    • mdlottery

carol: Thanks for writing in. Winning numbers have always been – and will continue to be – purely the luck of the draw and a matter of random chance. Numbers drawn for each of the Lottery’s daily drawing games are arbitrary. Every time a ball is drawn, it is an independent and unique event, completely unaffected by what ball was drawn seconds, hours, days, weeks or even years earlier. In addition, each ball drawn has the same exact chance of being drawn as any other ball in the machine, at any point in time.

Please feel free to take a look at our numbers archive. There you can research your numbers to see when they’ve come out in the past.

      • Denise

MD Lottery why does Baltimore always win the most prizes????

        It is not fair!!!1

  • Karen

If you have not received a call or email notification by now, does that mean you didn’t win?

    • mdlottery

Karen: No it does not. The validation process takes some time. We have 50 names with three tickets in each entry so it does take some time. We will publish names as soon as possible.

      • Karen

So there’s still a small chance. Thank you for responding so quickly. I play often and have won, but not over $500. So if I win, it would mean that my luck is improving. Thanks again.

  • gman

When are you going to post the 50 thousand
    dollar winners??

  • Fiona Higgins

Approximately how many entries were received in total?

    • mdlottery
