Wins $50,000 Taxes-Paid Prize with Dream Green Scratch-off
Brandy Wells was a little disappointed when her favorite Lottery scratch-off was unavailable last week. But that soon changed when the 23-year-old scratched her way to a $50,000 win — taxes paid no less. “I stopped by a gas station to get my favorite instant ticket and couldn’t find it, it was sold-out,” Brandy told officials. “I was disappointed but I wanted to play so I just randomly picked a different game.”
That different game was the Dream Green instant ticket. When Brandy scratched it later that day she didn’t trust what she was seeing. She looked again and again and it didn’t change – she had won $50,000. She sat stunned as her mom took a look to confirm the win.
“My mom’s yelling and screaming to let me know that I was reading it correctly,” said the in-home care giver from Annapolis. “I was all smiles. Especially when I realized the Lottery was covering the taxes.”
Brandy happened upon her winning Dream Green ticket at the Tyler Amoco, 1207 Forest Rd. in Annapolis. Her first purchase with her winnings will likely be a new car.
