Glen Burnie Bingo Scratch-off Fan Wins $150,000Thursday, December 5th, 2013
Will give extended family a big holiday celebration
A jolly holiday is in store for the extended family of a Glen Burnie woman who won $150,000 playing the Maryland Lottery’s King Size Bingo scratch-off.
The 64-year-old buys a scratch-off ticket each day and favors bingo-style tickets. She’s played for at least a decade without a big win and was all smiles when she and her husband arrived with their retailer at Lottery headquarters to claim the prize. Her decision to buy the $10 scratch-off, which has eight bingo cards to play, will certainly boost their savings account and put the ho, ho, ho in their holiday.
The mother of three bought the ticket and scratched it off in the store. Uncertain about whether she won, the player had the retailer check the scratch-off. The store machine declared her a winner but kept mum about the amount of the win.
She and her husband, who will celebrate his 70th birthday this month, are looking forward to spoiling their adult children and six grandchildren with holiday gifts. Both are retired and the jackpot win is a wonderful surprise. Two $150,000 King Size Bingo top prize winning tickets and two second-tier $10,000 winning scratch-offs are still waiting for discovery at Maryland retailers.
Our Anne Arundel County winner bought the lucky ticket at Deven’s Deli at 1272 Stoney Run Road in Hanover.
