why can’t I get the 300 extra yds bonus by using the code the store gave me? I get “not a valid promo code” when it’s right at the cash register where I bought my tickets. Whats the deal with that? I already entered my yards. The girl in the store said when I enter my yds I will automatically get the extra 300 yds per entry. I don’t understand. I won’t play this next year. I am too poor to do this again.

Donna: You have to enter the promo code along with your Yards from your ticket. Underneath the field for your Yards, you should see another field for promo code. You’ll enter them at the same time to get the Yards and Code credited to your account. If you have additional questions, please call us at 410-230-8800.

I would like to complain about the Ravens Scratch off’s. Last year I bought quite a few of them the most I won was $15.oo. This year has been horrible I have purchased many tickets and have not won a dollar. My grandson and his friend bought $200 worth at one time and won nothing. It is a big rip off and should not even have the Ravens name on them.

    • http://marylandlottery.wordpress.com Maryland Lottery

KathyPhillips: Winning tickets are distributed randomly throughout an entire game. If the average chance of winning a prize is 1:5, this does not mean there is an automatic winner within every five consecutive tickets. There is no pattern as to where winning tickets will occur. Just as the possibility of purchasing a winning ticket exists, it is also possible to buy multiple tickets back-to-back without receiving a winner at all. Like all Lottery games, scratch-off results are purely the luck of the draw and are simply a matter of random chance. In addition, the odds on the back of the ticket are the ‘overall odds,’ which is best described as the ratio of winning tickets to non-winning tickets from all tickets printed for the game.

I FIND NO PROBLEM WITH SUPPORTING OUR STATE THRU LOTTERY PLAYING IN ANY FORM. HOWEVER, I THINK THE STATE SHOULD PROVIDE A MONTHLY BREAKDOWN OF WHERE ALL THE MONEY GOES . I THOUGHT IT WAS REALLY GOOD THAT THE CASINO PROVIDED US WITH SUCH A BREAKDOWN. IT IS ALWAYS NICE TO KNOW WHERE MY MONEY GOES.

    • http://marylandlottery.wordpress.com Maryland Lottery

Frances Fortney: We always want to be as transparent as possible with our information. Feel free to check out our WHERE THE MONEY GOES page for this information. This page is updated after each fiscal year.

We the people of Maryland keep hearing about the debt the state is in. Where would we be without the lottery and the BILLIONS of dollars that it haspumped into our economy,we all love to play and if it wasn’t for the people supporting the state lottery our great state would be in poverty. Thank you for giveing us a fun way to support our state and do our civic duty.

  • Tom

I see we don’t have percentage of tickets sold this month????Have you ever thought about a weekly report on the scratch link for all percentages on all tickets? Then you could better serve the curious masses. I know it would take a little creativity but it also may boost sales and make your players happy, after all without happy players you are out of business and they do pay the bills. Think about it–Thanks

      Tom:
We have thought about it and are in the process of implementing them, as well as others in the VERY near future. Please be on the look out. ;)
