      Why is the money going to “Benefit MD Stadium Authority”?  Why do we still have to financially support the Stadiums?  For the prices they charge, they should be self sufficient.  Why isn’t that money put in the “General Fund” along with other Lottery Money?

        Sebringlady97: Maryland Lottery revenue’s support many vital programs and services, including education, public health, public safety, the environment and human resources. In fact, since its inception, the Lottery has contributed more than $12.2 billion to the State. In addition, each year the Legislature directs a portion of Lottery funds to the Maryland Stadium Authority to help support projects promoting historic preservation, community redevelopment, cultural arts, and civic pride.

        In Fiscal Year 2011, the Lottery contributed more than $519 million in revenue to the state of Maryland. Of this amount, $20 million was directed to the Stadium Authority.

    Jean: Lottery revenue goes into the state’s general fund. From there it is our elected officials job to determine where the money is best spent, whether it be education, infrastructure or other good causes for the state.

    No they are not. Player’s Club has been temporarily removed from retailers in favor of other $20 scratch-offs. We will relaunch the game in the near future.
