I LIVED THE FANTASY – GERI ARNOLDTuesday, December 29th, 2009
Nicole and I had a great time, although it was a tough loss and a quiet plane ride home.
With just a 33 min air time trip from BWI to Pittsburgh, we were served a choice of beef tenderloin or sea bass and crab cakes. Our arrival at the hotel began with a meeting with Ray Rice. He was gracious enough to give everyone a photo opportunity and an autographed Ravens hat.
The rest of the evening was ours. Nicole and I enjoyed dinner with some of the other Lottery winners. And we ran into Ozzie Newsome (who always has a smile on his face) and Mark Clayton.
The next morning I had a great time cheering on the players as they left the hotel on their way to the stadium and got some great shots of some of the players. When asked by my local newspaper what one player I wanted to meet first, I replied Coach Harbaugh, who has done a great job. I was so excited when I turned around to see him walk off the elevator. He took time for autographs and photos, but for me the hand shake and an opportunity to wish the coach good luck on the game made my entire trip.
I really want to thank the Lottery for such a once in a lifetime opportunity. The Baltimore Ravens representative was also wonderful. We met some wonderful people – the other Lottery winners – and have talked of remaining friends, keeping in touch and reuniting at another Ravens game.
