Wins $77,700 prize on 7X the Money Maryland Lottery Scratch-off
A 55-year-old Baltimore resident now has a grin that’s seven times its normal size. That’s because he bought a jackpot-winning 7X the Money scratch-off ticket from the Maryland Lottery, nabbing the ticket’s $77,700 top prize.
The State employee purchased the lucky ticket on his way home from work two months ago. That evening, he scratched the ticket at home with his girlfriend. When he saw the large prize on his ticket, he had to take a second look. “I didn’t think ordinary people could win these things, but there it was,” he said.
During the two months he waited to claim his jackpot prize, the lucky winner carried the ticket with him everywhere he went. “It made me nervous and I almost misplaced the ticket a few times. I just wanted to contemplate what I might do with the money before I claimed,” he explained.
The lucky winner plans to spend his winnings to relocate. “I had already planned to move, but I didn’t have the finances.” As for the future, the winner says he’ll wait and see. “I’m going to take it slow and focus on priorities. I can’t fix it all, but it’s a start.”
He bought the lucky ticket at the Food Stop on 4900 Liberty Heights Avenue in Baltimore.
