Lusby Woman Goes Cash Craze-y and Wins $30,000

Wednesday, March 9th, 2011

Expressing shock and disbelief, the 62-year-old winner arrived at Lottery Headquarters to claim what she described as her “biggest win ever.” The ADT saleswoman  scratched her way to a $30,000 windfall playing the Cash Craze Crossword instant ticket. The mother-of-two purchased the winning ticket from an Instant Ticket Vending Machine on Saturday while running errands.  To her amazement, she realized that she had won the top prize but kept saying to herself “this isn’t right”.  Shortly thereafter, she double checked the ticket at another local Lottery retailer and also at the Lottery’s Lanham Claim Center.  Both locations told her to visit Lottery Headquarters to claim her prize.  When she finally confirmed her win she said that she breathed a sign of relief.

The lucky winner plans to do some home improvements which include hardwood floors, a new roof, fireplace and computer table.  She would also like to take a trip and save some as well.   The winning ticket was purchased at Dash-In on 601 Charles St. in La Plata.

way to go! I am so happy for you. I wish it was me. I buy tickets there all the time, but I’ve never won that kind of money. That is a nice win.I could use that $$$ to purchase the ADT security system you tried to sell me last year

Cash Crazy Crosswoed is now my new favorite scratch-off…taking the place of the Super Bonus Crossword. Guess I’m out of the prize race now since I live so close to the last first tier winner…in St. Leonard. Brutal! There’s no way there are 2 winners out here in our neck of the woods. Plus my girlfriend just won a “Livin’ Lucky” second chance prize…$300 worth of scratchies. No way the same household will be that lucky.
