$5 Instant Ticket Launched January 10, 2011
The Maryland Lottery and Royal Caribbean International are making a splash with the new Cruise for Cash scratch-off which went on sale on Monday, January 10th. The first scratch-off of its kind for the Maryland Lottery, the $5 ticket features seven $50,000 instant top prizes, as well as 31 instant seven-night cruise vacations for two, departing from Florida. Cruise for Cash also features a second-chance contest with six more chances to win a nine-night cruise vacation for two, departing from the Port of Baltimore.
“This is a first for the Maryland Lottery,” said Lottery Director Stephen Martino. “This ticket is going to appeal to our core scratch-off players and also draw a whole new fan base to Lottery play. After all, we’re teaming up with one of the premiere ship lines in the world to offer dream vacations.”
The seven-night instant cruise prizes include a premium ocean view balcony stateroom on any one of Royal Caribbean’s cruise ships; first class round-trip airfare for two to Florida; deluxe premium hotel accommodations for two for the night prior to cruise departure, $1,000 onboard credit and $500 spending money.
Second-chance cruise prizes include a premium ocean view balcony stateroom on any one of Royal Caribbean’s cruise ships departing from the Port of Baltimore and a $1,000 onboard credit. For the second-chance contest, players may enter by mailing in a non-winning Cruise for Cash scratch-off to the address on the back of the ticket or by going online at mdlottery.com/cruise. If players enter online they MUST keep their original Cruise for Cash ticket to present for validation.
To celebrate the ticket, the Maryland Lottery will hold an invitation-only Cruise for Cash Bash on Sunday, January 30, 2011 at Martin’s West. The free event will feature four live drawings for $1,000 each and one lucky winner will walk away $10,000 richer. Beginning January 17th, individuals may enter for the chance to win admittance to the event. On January 25th, 250 attendees will be randomly selected from all of the entries. All selected party-goers may bring one guest and all in attendance must be 18 years of age or older. Attendees must present their RSVP confirmation form and any non-winning Maryland Lottery ticket to be admitted to the party. For more information visit, mdlottery.com/cruise.
