UPDATE: Mega Millions Jackpot Raised to $636 MillionMonday, December 16th, 2013
Cash option for tonight’s jackpot is $341.2 million
UPDATE: As of 11:30 a.m. Dec. 17, the jackpot has been raised to $636 million with a cash option of $341.2 million.
Once again, the Mega Millions jackpot has been raised due to strong sales. The jackpot for Tuesday night’s drawing is a spectacular $636 million with a cash option of $341.2 million, making it the second highest lottery jackpot of all time. This jackpot, which has been rolling since Oct. 4 is second only to the Mega Millions drawing jackpot of $656 million won in March 2012.
Maryland has already been home to two Mega Millions jackpot wins this year. An Anne Arundel County man stepped forward in October to claim a $189 million jackpot. In February, a Mt. Airy couple won $26 million playing Mega Millions. So far this year Maryland has welcomed 16 second-tier winners, including two with Megaplier for $1 million. The multistate game is sold in 45 states and jurisdictions.
Sales of the $1 tickets will continue until 10:45 p.m. Tuesday. Players can increase their winnings by investing a second $1 to add Megaplier to their ticket to multiply non-jackpot prizes by 2x, 3x, 4x or 5x. Also, tickets with Megaplier will print with a Ravens logo and qualify for a second-chance contest. Enter those non-winning tickets into drawings for a chance to win great prizes like Ravens season tickets for 20 years. See mdlottery.com/ravens for details.
