Is it a coincidence or just odd that 3 out of the 4 winners for the 2nd chance drawings work for the state of Maryland.

    • mdlottery

There are no restrictions prohibiting the majority of state employees from playing the Lottery, with the exception of Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency employees and Commission members. All other Maryland state employees are allowed to play. If you have any further questions, please let us know.

yes it’s my time to win something!!!!

  • Nick Avig

I spoke with a MD lottery rep the other day when the MD lottery was at my building doing a give away for a party that was taking place. I spoke with the representative about doing a Yahtzee scratch-off. I think it’s a great idea and think of the online possibilities for non-winning tickets would be endless. Please follow up on this so we can start to play Maryland Lottery Yahtzee scratch offs please.

      Hi Nick-

Thanks for your suggestions! They will be forwarded over to the appropriate department.

  • Val

Well. I will tell you. I haven’t hit a 4 digit straight in God knows how long. Whatever # I play it’s always 1 number away. And, as far as these second chance contest. I enter those losing scratchoffs which are a lot and submit my points for these drawings and never win anything. Some ppl are just not lucky I guess…like myself.

Hello MD Lottery, do you have to save/keep, or present your loosing tickets to win if you are selected as a winner in the second chance drawings?

    • mdlottery

It depends on the second chance game. As stated in the MONOPOLY rules, you do not need to keep your ticket after you have entered into the second-chance contest.

  • James Holston

Hello MD Lottery, I live in VA, but I regularly play the MD Lottery games. I also enter the 2nd chance Monopoly game. I’ve noticed that all winners so far lives in MD. Does those players living in another state have a chance to be selected in the 2nd chance drawings? or just MD residents?

    • mdlottery

      Hi James-
Out of state residents are able to win as well.

    Hi there-

Thanks for writing in. While it may seem that way, we assure you that the georgraphic locations of our winners are random. We don’t even know where the locations of winning tickets are, it is all the luck of the draw!

  • mdlottery

There is no maximum amount. Players can enter an unlimited amount of times as long as they enter a non-winning ticket.

  • Chris Lewis

It seems more people win the larger prices on the western shore, Baltimore and the surrounding areas than on the eastern shore. I find that to be strange.

    • mdlottery

It may seem like certain parts of the state may have more winners most likely because they have a higher population and more people are playing within those areas.

For instance, if you have 1,000 players in City A and only 100 players in City B; City A is likely to produce more winners at nearly a 10:1 rate.

With that said, the geographic locations of our winners are random. Please take a look at our winners stories. There you’ll see that we have winners from all over the State.

  • mdlottery

Yes – the winner has been contacted.

  • denise

Do anyone on the eastern shore ever win

    • mdlottery

Yes! It may seem as if other parts of the state win more than others. Research tells us that more winners come from areas of the State that have high population because in those areas more people are playing.

For instance, if you have 1,000 players in City A and only 100 players in City B; City A is likely to produce more winners at nearly a 10:1 rate.
