Second-chance prizes added just in time for the holidays

Lottery players will be excited to learn that the Maryland Lottery has added a new prize category to the Ravens Cash Fantasy second-chance promotion.  In addition to the other second-chance prizes already available, the Lottery will be giving away $25,000 every week now through January 31, 2013.  Players may enter weekly drawings beginning today, with the first drawing to take place on Thursday, November 29.

“Everyone loves winning cash,” said Maryland Lottery Director of Communications Carole Everett. “And with the holidays right around the corner, this is the perfect time for players to put an extra $25,000 in their pockets.”

In addition to the $25,000 prizes, there are still numerous other second-chance prizes remaining, including $1 million cash, season tickets for life, game-day Ravens tickets and more. Players can also still win up to $250,000 instantly on the Ravens Cash Fantasy scratch-off.

Entries for the new $25,000 drawings will require 300 extra yards per submission and will only be valid for one drawing period. To enter the Ravens Cash Fantasy promotion, players can scratch the perforated section at the bottom of their scratch-offs and enter the extra yards for the prize category of their choice at mdlottery.com/ravens.

Shay: Mr. Anderson is clearly one of our most active Ravens Cash Fantasy players. He often enters the majority of his yards into monthly drawings categories with fewer entries, thus increasing his chances of winning. Although each drawing is random, players who enter more yards have more chances to win. The Lottery has announced many Ravens Cash Fantasy winners over the past few years; some have entered contests only once and others have entered thousands of times. Despite how many times a player enters, the results remain the luck of the draw.

Who is Fred Anderson? I see his name listed for 20 RAVENS PRIZES….. Is this guy for real? Or does he have friends downtown? hmmmm

Joel: Fred is one of the games top players with over 1,000,000 extra yards. For all of our second chance games player odds are determined by the number of entries at the time of the drawing. The winner is increasing their chances by entering as much as they can.

With that said, winners are still the luck of the draw and a matter of random chance.
