Chance Purchase Pays Off for Randallstown Woman
Wins $50,000 top-tier Bonus Match 5 prize

(Baltimore) – A Randallstown woman stopped to buy Mega Millions tickets on Friday and, on a whim, decided to buy a Bonus Match 5 ticket. “I may have bought Bonus Match 5 one other time in my entire life,” said the retired university employee.”  

The woman said that she didn’t even know that she was a winner until three days later. “I was watching the drawing after the noon news,” she said. “On the crawl, at the bottom, it said a winning Bonus Match 5 ticket was bought at J& S Liquors in Randallstown. That’s when I went and checked my ticket.”  Even then the big win didn’t register. The 61-year-old mother-of-two proceeded to go to a doctor’s appointment and waited to stop at the store until she was on her way home. She checked her ticket again, this time on the Lottery machine. Finally, the good news sunk in and she excitedly phoned her husband.  He too was initially in disbelief.

Planning to share her good fortune, the woman intends to give part of her winnings to Feed the Children and The Breast Cancer Society. She said she also wants to take a vacation to Brazil with her husband.

The winning ticket was purchased at J & S Liquors, located at 10000 Liberty Rd. in Randallstown.
