 $50,000 “Fill-Up” with Bonus Match 5 
 

(Baltimore) – A 54-year-old Upper Marlboro man was on the way to church when he needed gas. He purchased a Bonus Match 5 ticket with the change from his gas. He didn’t know it, but $2 in change from filling the tank would soon fill his back pocket with $50,000. The lucky man won a Bonus Match 5 top-tier prize when his numbers hit that night.

He had the ticket in his pocket the next day when he was purchasing another ticket. When the ticket scanner said the prize could not be paid, he asked for a printout of the numbers. He checked his ticket against the winning numbers while sitting in his car outside the store. When he realized he was a winner, his legs started shaking. “I couldn’t start the car and I just sat there for an hour wondering what to do next,” he said.

The lucky winner, a Nigerian emigrant, moved to the US in 1976 and runs a home-based business, repairing and reselling cars he purchases at auctions.  With the prize, he may treat his family to a trip to Las Vegas. The winning ticket was purchased at Hampton Mall Exxon located at 8901 Central Avenue in Capitol Heights.
