Two Big Wins in Less Than Two Months for Ellicott
City
Woman
Wins
$30,000 Top Prize on Blackout Bingo Scratch-Off
(Baltimore) – “Weren’t you just here,” was the greeting received by
the winner and the friend who had accompanied her to Lottery
Headquarters. It was not more than six weeks ago that the Ellicott
City woman claimed a $100,000 top prize on the Fantasy Fortune
scratch-off. These prizes were just the latest in a series of big
scratch-off wins for the widowed mother-of-four. In 1994, she won
$50,000 playing Cash in Hand. It was around that time that
she also won $30,000 on a $2 scratch-off ticket.
This past
Saturday evening the 71-year-old revealed her latest windfall. “I
was lying in bed scratching my ticket,” she said. “Before I was even
finished, I said ‘I’ve got the big one.’’ The woman, who works for
Howard County schools, intends to talk to a financial advisor and
invest her money wisely. “I’m going to put this away with the other
$100,000,” she said. “I’m also going to put some in the bank for my
four grandchildren.”
She added that
she now is able to buy things she wasn’t always able to. “I go to
the grocery store and something looks good and now I just get it.”
The avid scratch-off fan will continue to play and is particularly
excited about the new Ravens Cash Fantasy ticket. “I’m going
to get one of those Ravens winners,” she said confidently.
The winning
ticket was purchased at Triangle Liquors, located at 8801-03
Baltimore Nat’l Pike in Ellicott City.
