Wins Taxes-Paid $50,000 Bonus Match 5 Prize

A long-time Lottery player decided to do something new recently, to play a game that she’d never tried before.  That decision certainly paid-off for the 42-year-old Bowie woman, who won a taxes-paid $50,000 prize playing her new favorite game – Bonus Match 5.

“I used family birthdays,” the excited winner told Lottery officials when asked how she chose her lucky numbers.  When asked about her reaction upon realizing that she’d won, she told us, “I didn’t really react at all.  I guess I didn’t really believe it was real.”  After checking the winning numbers several more times, she shared the news with her fiancé.  She told him, “We have to go to Lottery headquarters right now.”  Her surprise grew when she learned about a Lottery promotion that covered the taxes on her win.  “That made the whole thing even better, even more exciting.”

The state employee now has her eyes on a new car.  And she’s sure to get her gas at the store that sold her the big winner – the Exxon station at 1500 NW Crain Highway in Bowie.
