Claims Green Bucks $100,000 Top Prize

Dorothy Rice woke up a few days before the New Year with a plan to take her great-grandchildren shopping. Money was a little tight before Christmas, so she had waited for the post-holiday sales. “After some shopping, I realized that I had to play my Lottery numbers and pick up a couple of scratch-offs,” Dorothy said.

As Dorothy stood there for a few moments looking at the scratch-off tickets from which to choose, she noticed the new Green Bucks ticket. She decided to purchase one and stayed in the store to scratch it.  She saw a $100,000 win on the first line. She continued to scratch, while shaking and screaming. Once the ticket was confirmed as a top-prize winner, she ran out of the store, crying and thanking God. The 62-year-old retired state worker went directly to her son’s house to share the good news.

Besides sharing her winnings with her family, Dorothy has no other plans for her windfall.  The winning ticket was purchased at the Bottle & Cork, located at 6867 Loch Raven Blvd. in Baltimore.

Dorothy Rice from Baltimore starts off the
New Year with a $100,000 Green Bucks win!

Ginnyginnyl: Thanks for writing in. We get this comment a lot. People living in Baltimore believe all the winners are elsewhere and vice versa. Truth is the geographic locations of our winners are all random. There is no way to predict where the winners will be. However, research tells us that more winners come from areas of the State in which more people are playing. Please take a look at our winners stories. There you’ll see that we have winners from all over the State.

Don’t get me wrong, I’m VERY happy for this lady and her family.  This is the type of person I love to see winning these types of prizes, but why are the vast majority of big prize scratch off tickets in the Baltimore area???
