Silver Spring Man Wins $100,000 Platinum Cash Top Prize

Platinum CashA 67–year-old man, from Silver Spring, happily claimed a $100,000 top prize after playing a Platinum Cash scratch-off. The father-of-three told Lottery officials that he doesn’t play that often, but every now and then he feels lucky, which is why he played that day.

“When I first scratched the ticket, it felt really good know that I had won one of the top prizes,” said the retiree. “Then, I felt relieved because I knew this would help me and my family out financially.

The lucky winner said that he plans to pay off most of his bills and take a family trip to Europe. “This is certainly a blessing for us. It comes at a time when we can really use the money,” he said. The winning ticket was purchased at Iva’s Market on Sligo Avenue in Silver Spring. Platinum Cash scratch-off ticket currently has six $100,000 top-tier prizes left.
