Claims top prize on July 10 Bonus Match 5 drawing

While waiting for a service call the morning after his big Maryland Lottery Bonus Match 5 win, all a happy Sparks senior could say to himself was “$50,000! $50,000! $50,000!”

That’s how much moola his ticket was worth for matching winning numbers in the July 10 drawing. After claiming the prize later that day at Lottery headquarters, the retired transportation / warehouse worker was headed back to his lucky store. The 67-year-old couldn’t wait to visit the Timonium Shell at 2161 York Road in Timonium to share news of his win with the clerks. He also was happy to hear about the $500 bonus the store will receive for selling the winning ticket.

“It’s about time!” the married man said of his win. This is his biggest prize to date and he has played Maryland Lottery games since the Lottery opened its doors. The avid player enjoys a daily game of Bonus Match 5 and also plays other Lottery games.

The Baltimore County resident plans to spend his prize on a new roof and other home improvements.
