Wins $10,000 Top Prize on Blackjack Tripler Scratch-Off

Leon Kavalou - Blackjack TriplerLeon Kavalou is a spry 80-year-old who enjoys a two-mile walk every morning. Today on his daily trek he stopped and bought one Maryland Lottery scratch-off. “I play small,” said Leon. That small $2 purchase resulted in his $10,000 win.

Leon discovered his good fortune upon his return home. “I scratched it and couldn’t believe it. All eight winners.” Leon quickly showed his wife the winning ticket and she too responded with disbelief.

Leon is originally from Belarus and his wife hails from Latvia. The happy couple met in the United States and has lived here for sixty years. A general mechanic at Domino Sugar for 41 years, Leon enjoys buying one and two dollars scratch-offs and previously won $500.

The father-of-two said that he will use his new-found wealth to pay health insurance bills and will treat his girls to dinner. The winning ticket was purchased at Shoppers Food Warehouse #7564, located at 5722 Ritchie Hwy. in Anne Arundel County.
