cutty sark: Thank you for your comment. It was important to Director Martino that the agency reminded Lottery players to re-check their Mega Millions tickets after the “big drawing” on 3/30 so no one missed out on smaller prizes. While it sounds like you are very knowledgeable about the game, there were many first-time players who participated in the drawing. It was important to remind these new players that even if their ticket wasn’t purchased at the Milford Mill 7-11, they could still have won something. Weeks after the drawing, we again reached out to media about unclaimed second-tier prizes and, as a result, two of the three outstanding second-tier prizes were claimed.

ABSTRACKARTTEES: The winning ticket is a bearer instrument so whomever has the ticket and signed it is the legal recipient of the prize when it is claimed.

Gregg: We know for certain that the winning ticket was purchased as a single quick pick ticket at 7:15 pm. There are timestamp discrepancies with the security video so we can’t definitively state who bought the ticket. We are simply waiting for the winner to come in and claim there prize. We’ll know more at that time.

Diane4927: Great question! No, the store owner does not have to wait to get their money – the fact that it was purchased at that store is the only proof necessary.
