Wins $50,000 Top Prize on Dream Green Scratch-Off
The 56-year-old winner arrived at Lottery Headquarters accompanied by her husband to claim her $50,000 scratch-off prize. Clearly delighted by her win, the Lottery fan soon discovered that her windfall was far more than she even realized. “Taxes paid?” she asked with a puzzled look. The Lottery official assured her that she would be receiving the entire 50 grand. “Darn, that’s more than we thought,” said her happy spouse.
The mother-of-three purchased her winning Dream Green scratch-off about a week ago. “I went to the store to get a few tickets,” she said. She scratched them right there and discovered her win. “The girl behind the counter and I were the only ones there. We were pretty excited.” The winner quickly called her husband, who couldn’t stop laughing when learning the news. She also phoned her mother and then went to have a celebratory beverage.
The couple enjoys playing the Maryland Lottery regularly and intends to continue what is one of their favorite pastimes. “We like to support our state,” the winner said with a chuckle. The prize money will be used to pay off her car and will also be shared with family members.
The winning ticket was purchased at Winfield Liquors, located at 1707 W. Liberty Rd. in Westminster.
