The celebration is just beginning for a lucky Cash4Life player who bought a ticket in Salisbury for the Tuesday, Feb. 11 drawing. That ticket matched all six of the winning numbers and delivered the daily game’s top prize of $1,000 a day for life.
The lucky ticket was sold at Winter Place Market located at 6731 Hobbs Road in Salisbury. The ticket matched the winning numbers: 11, 22, 32, 34, 48; and the Cash Ball 2. The Lottery encourages the winner to sign the back of the ticket immediately and keep it in a safe location. The ticket can be redeemed at Lottery Headquarters located at 1800 Washington Boulevard in Baltimore.
The winner has 182 days from the drawing date to redeem the ticket and will have a choice to receive $1,000 a day for life, paid in annual installments of $365,000 (before taxes), or a one-time payment of $7 million (before taxes).
Cash4Life just passed its fourth anniversary in Maryland. The Maryland Lottery started selling tickets for the multi-state game on Jan. 26, 2016, and this was Maryland’s third Cash4Life top-prize winner. In the May 2, 2016 drawing a Frederick woman won Maryland’s first Cash4Life top prize. She claimed anonymously and opted to receive the one-time payment. In the Aug. 7, 2017 drawing, William Brown of Pikesville won the top prize and opted to receive annual payments. Cash4Life tickets are also sold in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Virginia, Tennessee, Indiana, Georgia and Florida.
The lucky retailer is a winner as well. For selling the top-prize-winning ticket, Winter Place Market will receive a $7,500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery. Cash4Life drawings are held nightly at 9 p.m. and tickets are $2. Players select five numbers from a range of 1 to 60, and one Cash Ball number from a range of 1 to 4. The game has nine different prize tiers starting at $2. Players win the top-tier prize of $1,000 a day for life by matching all six of the winning numbers. Players can win the second-tier prize of $1,000 a week for life by matching the first five numbers without matching the Cash Ball.
