$10,000 Jewel Hides in Royal Gems Ticket Book

Player wins with last scratch-off

232-Royal-Gems-ITVM_P1-purpleA 34-year-old avid scratch-off player wasn’t having any luck on Friday as he played instant tickets at the 7-Eleven in Perryville. Just as he was about to leave, the Perryville resident noticed that there was one Royal Gems ticket left in the book of Maryland Lottery scratch-offs.

“I couldn’t just leave that one ticket there after I had played a couple,” he said. “So, I decided to purchase it, and boy, am I glad I did.”

While scratching the $20 ticket at the store, the excited winner saw that he matched all 30 numbers plus the bonus section. The Cecil County man turned to a calculator to help him tally up all of the different dollar amounts on the $20 ticket. His win was $10,000!

The kitchen company employee kept the lucky ticket in his pocket all weekend until he could claim his prize Monday at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. With his prize, the loyal player plans to pay bills and maybe enjoy a nice dinner.

He bought his winning scratch-off at 7-Eleven #19253 located at 5400 Pulaski Highway in Perryville. The $20 Royal Gems game has one $1 million top prize remaining, along with many other prizes between $20 and $50,000.
