Westminster Man Claims $100,000 Casino Royale Scratch-off Prize
Still in disbelief, a 33-year-old Westminster man arrived at Lottery Headquarters today to claim his $100,000 Casino Royale scratch-off prize. Coincidentally, the Computer A/C Technician was in the same building as Lottery Headquarters working on A/C for a neighboring business, only a week ago. “When I looked online to find out where to claim, I thought, hey, I was just in that building.”
The lucky man was buying lunch on Friday at his regular stomping ground when he decided to purchase his Casino Royale scratch-off after seeing the man in front of him buy one. “He told me after I saw I’d won the top prize that he’d almost bought two and then decided against it,” said the winner. “My ticket was the next one on the roll.”
The winner immediately called his wife and family to share his good news. Their reactions were much like his own. “Everyone was silent, in disbelief.” He then took his ticket home and hid it in his home safe. “Because of the holiday weekend, I had to wait four days to come in and claim my winnings. It didn’t feel real until now.”
The father-of-two intends to pay bills and do a few small home renovations with his winnings, but he is particularly happy that he will be able to give his kids great birthdays this year. “The first thing I’m going to buy is a four-wheeler for my son,” exclaimed the excited dad. Next on the agenda is a trip to Disney World and he also plans to put money toward his children’s college educations. The winning scratch-off was purchased at the Shady Grove Deli at 15904 Shady Grove Rd. in Gaithersburg.
