$108.8 Million Powerball Jackpot Ticket Sold in Abingdon

First Powerball Jackpot Win for State Since Game Began

Along with the torrential downpours, it’s raining cash here in Maryland. Last night, for the first time ever, a winning Powerball jackpot ticket was sold in Maryland. The lucky ticket for last night’s drawing was purchased in Harford County at Wine World, located at 406-A Constant Friendship Blvd. in Abingdon.  Wine World will receive a $25,000 commission for selling the ticket.  Last night’s winning numbers were 3, 5, 18, 27, 54 and Power Ball 13.

We are so excited to have a top-tier winner here in Maryland.  It will definitely add a bright spot to an otherwise rainy week,” said Lottery Communications Director Carole Everett.  “We can’t wait to meet Maryland’s newest multi-millionaire.”

Lottery officials urge the winner to sign the back of the ticket.  The winner, who has 182 days to claim, can decide between the $108.8 million annuity or the approximate $65 million cash option.  After taxes, if the cash option is chosen, the winner will receive a lump payment of nearly $43 million.
