Three winners claim separately this week
Three lucky players found $10,000 top-prize winning tickets in the 10x Cash scratch-off game. The popular $10 game still has 83 top prizes remaining, along with thousands of prizes of $10 to $1,000.
A Baltimore retiree who enjoys playing scratch-offs regularly got the surprise of a lifetime when she found Lottery luck at Arundel Liquors located at 8530 Fort Smallwood Road in Pasadena.
“I was all shook up,” she said. “I thought it was a fake ticket. I called my son and he looked at it and he said, ‘No, you’re a winner.’ ” Her largest previous scratch-off win of $500 came about five years ago. The 65-year-old plans to use her prize to pay bills and enjoy some holiday shopping next month on Black Friday.
A Frederick County maintenance worker is still in shock over his latest scratch-off win. The 52-year-old found his top-prize win at Anita’s Liquors located at 1408 South Main Street in Mt. Airy.
“I just get the feeling sometimes, the ticket just called me,” the lucky winner said. The Middletown man plays several times a week. He’s won several smaller prizes as well as a second-chance prize on the Ravens promotion. He plans to pay off bills with his prize and try to win more Lottery prizes.
The third winner is a U.S. veteran from Washington, D.C. The 67-year-old purchased the ticket at Mike’s Restaurant & Liquors located at 5301 Indian Head Highway in Oxon Hill. After returning home, he scratched off the instant ticket and couldn’t tell how much he’d won.
“I didn’t have my glasses on and I saw the top number, but I couldn’t tell if it was $100 or $1,000,” he said. “I asked my wife, and she told me it was $1,000, and then she scratched off the next one and the next one, and they were all $1,000. She said, ‘You won $10,000!’ ”
The lucky winner plans to use his prize to help pay for a vacation to Africa that he has been planning since last year.
