Aberdeen woman enjoys exciting win
Jennifer Guy of Aberdeen enjoyed a December to remember as she scratched her way to her third Maryland Lottery win in 31 days. The 36-year-old health administration professional finished her hat trick of 2014 with more three’s – a $33,000 scratch-off win on a Triple Tripler instant ticket.
“I think this is the beginning of a beautiful 2015,” she said.
The avid Lottery player hit her big win last week during what she describes as her ‘wind-down time.’ “I pick up my tickets on the way home from work and take a look at them when I get home,” Jennifer said. She was cooking dinner when she revealed the top prize on the $3 ticket.
Her husband had no problem believing the good news when Jennifer called him shortly after the win. “Things like this just happen to her,” Madrice said. “She’s just very lucky.”
For example, Jennifer won with the Lottery’s Pick 3 game on Dec. 21. She followed that up a few days later with a Pick 4 win.
Whether holiday luck played a factor in her winning pattern is unknown. However, Jennifer says the Lottery website definitely played a role. She reads the winner news at mdlottery.com and studies the scratch-offs that are available. Jennifer plays games that have lots of remaining prizes. “I like the new $20 Black scratch-off too. It still has all of its $1 million prizes,” she said.
Jennifer knows she is very fortunate, but isn’t sure she’s finished her winning streak. “I just get this feeling that I’m going to win something else,” she said. The lucky player bought her winning ticket at the 7-Eleven located at 1345 James Way Road in Aberdeen. Jennifer says the proceeds from her win will go toward paying off debts she was chipping away at during 2014.
