$50,000 Family Feud Scratch-off Prize Financing Family Reunion

Silver Spring woman wins top prize playing $5 game

An assortment of Maryland Lottery scratch-offs delivered a big surprise that will enable a 45-year-old hair stylist to pack up her brushes, combs and scissors for a trip home to the Dominican Republic. The lucky Silver Spring woman’s $50,000 top-prize win on a Family Feud scratch-off is financing her family reunion!

The happy woman couldn’t believe her luck when she scratched off the winning instant ticket at 7-Eleven #22053 in Wheaton. The lucky winner is a loyal scratch-off player, according to her son, who accompanied her to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore and translated for her. He explained that she plans to use her prize to visit family and friends in her native country and to bolster her savings account.

Her favorite Lottery retailer also benefits from her big win. For selling the top-prize scratch-off in the game, the Montgomery County 7-Eleven store, located at 11445 Amherst Drive, earned a $500 bonus from the Lottery.

There are still plenty of prizes remaining on the $5 game, too. Players can look for four more $50,000 top prizes, seven $5,000 prizes and thousands of others ranging from $5 to $1,000.
