$50,000 Lottery Win Putting Salisbury Man in New Pickup Truck

“The Pickup Man” is going truck shopping soon with his $50,000 Bonus Match 5 win.

Wins top prize on Bonus Match 5 game

A Salisbury man who stopped at a local Wawa to grab some cash from an ATM collided with $50,000 worth of Lottery luck that will soon have him driving a new pickup truck.

On his way out of the store on March 27, the lucky Maryland Lottery player bought a Bonus Match 5 ticket for that night’s drawing. The 51-year-old shoved the $2 quick-pick ticket into his wallet and continued with his daily routine. Days passed and it was not until Friday, March 31, that he saw a notice that the very same store had sold a $50,000 winning Bonus Match 5 ticket in the March 27 drawing.

The Wicomico County husband and his wife together confirmed his top-prize win by checking the Lottery website’s winning numbers on their phones. Once the father of three realized he had matched the five numbers, the pair began celebrating!

His first words were, “I’m buying a pickup truck!” The wife’s first comment was, “No, we are paying off some bills and college educations!” The parents of college students agreed to do both.

The lucky Salisbury retailer that sold the $50,000 top-prize ticket is also a winner! Wawa #561 located at 2740 North Salisbury Boulevard will earn a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
