The winners of our 50,000 Reasons to Play promotion have flocked to Lottery headquarters to claim their prizes. Drawn from more than 2.5 million entries, 11 lucky Lottery players were randomly selected as winners.
While most plan to use some of their prizes to pay bills, they also hope to have a little fun. Alfred Wainwright, who won the contest’s top prize of $50,000, looks forward to making a down payment on a house. Darryl Pinnick, Doris Fowlkes and Darwin Floer, all $20,000 winners, plan to treat themselves to vacations. Wayne Rathell Sr., a $10,000 winner, already has three cruises booked this summer and said the extra money will come in handy. Jacqueline Phillips will donate some of her $10,000 to charity and Connie Reed plans to buy new tires and do some painting around her house.
Winners were also excited to use the My Lottery Rewards points they won in addition to their prize money. Electronics seem to be most popular. A couple of winners are saving their points to redeem them for televisions, and another plans to put her points toward a computer for her granddaughter. In addition to his $50,000 prize, Wainwright will receive 50,000 points, 10,000 of which he plans to use for 100 entries into the MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES CLUB game show drawing. The winner will receive a four-night all-expenses-paid trip for two to Las Vegas and will be in the audience for a taping of the Monopoly Millionaires’ Club game show, with a chance to win $1 million.
Congratulations to all the winners!
