$50,000 Scratch-off Win Surreal for Retired Army Veteran

Claims top prize on Super Cash instant ticket

Winning a top prize on a Maryland Lottery scratch-off is a surreal experience, reports a retired U.S. Army veteran from Cecil County. One day, the 49-year-old was hoping and praying for some kind of luck. The next day, she celebrated a $50,000 top-prize scratch-off win on a game purchased at a Baltimore 7-Eleven.

The lucky lady enjoys playing the Lottery’s newer scratch-offs. She was instantly drawn to the $5 Super Cash instant ticket that went on sale Nov. 18. The loyal player purchased two scratch-offs at the 7-Eleven and the rest is history. “After praying, I was okay with whatever happened, but now I’m just so amazed at this unexpected win,” the woman said.

The Perry Point resident served nine years in the military with 6+ years in the Army and 18 months in the National Guard. She plans to use her winnings to pay off debts and to buy a new home.

Her lucky retailer also shares in the prize. The 7-Eleven #37002 located at 239 North Gay Street in Baltimore earns a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off. There are still eight unclaimed top prizes remaining, 10 $5,000 prizes and thousands of others ranging from $5 to $1,000.
