Lucky ticket one of 26 third-tier winners nationwide
Although the Powerball jackpot was hit on a ticket sold in Florida for Wednesday night’s drawing, Maryland is home to 13,884 winners of prizes from $4 to $50,000! A Carroll County liquor store sold a $50,000-winning ticket – one of 26 third-tier winning tickets in the Aug. 12 drawing.
The Maryland Lottery is looking for the lucky player who visited Cranberry Liquors at 405 North Center Street in Westminster. The winning numbers were 2, 6, 18, 36 and 37; the Powerball was 21 and the Power Play multiplier was 2. This is the 24th third-tier Powerball winner in Maryland this year.
Lottery officials recommend our Powerball that the winner sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until claiming the prize. Winners typically get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. However, the Lottery has temporarily extended claiming deadlines due to Maryland’s COVID-19 state of emergency.
Big winners can claim prizes by mail or in person by appointment at the Lottery Customer Resource Center, which is located at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore. Get details on how to claim by mail here or schedule an appointment here.
The $168.5 million Powerball jackpot goes to the holder of the ticket sold in Bonita Springs, Fla.
Watch televised Powerball drawings at 11:22 p.m. on Wednesdays and Saturdays on WBAL-TV. Winning numbers are available at mdlottery.com and on your smartphone by downloading the free MD Lottery app.
