In-state game produces third jackpot hit in 2017
We’ve got a winner! Check your Multi-Match tickets because a lucky Maryland Lottery player purchased a $725,000 jackpot-winning ticket in Owings Mills for the Thursday, April 27 drawing.
The winner, who is the third player to hit a Multi-Match jackpot in 2017, can choose between the annuity and an estimated $362,500 cash option (before taxes). The winning ticket with the numbers 1, 4, 20, 32, 40 and 41 was sold at the Town and Country Liquor Shoppe located at 9639 Reisterstown Road.
Lottery officials encourage the winner to sign the back of the ticket immediately and keep it in a safe location. The player has 182 days to claim the prize in person at Lottery headquarters located at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore.
The lucky retailer is a winner as well. Town and Country Liquor Shoppe will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the ticket.
Multi-Match made its debut in 2006, and the top three jackpot wins in its history were $4.8 million on Sept. 19, 2009; $4.45 million on March 18, 2010 and $3.8 million on Dec. 16, 2010. In 2017, a lucky Glen Burnie man claimed a $1.35 million jackpot in the Jan. 16 drawing and a Berlin man claimed a $1 million jackpot in the March 23 drawing.
Tickets for Multi-Match are $2. The Lottery draws six numbers from 1 to 43 every Monday and Thursday night. Players select one line of six numbers and the Lottery terminal randomly selects two additional lines of six numbers. To win the jackpot, players match all six numbers on any one line. Players match between three and five numbers on any one line to win up to $1,000. Match between five and 18 numbers total on all three lines combined to win up to $2,000 more. The overall chances of winning are 1 in 8.5.
