93-Year-Old Scratch-off Player Wins Game’s First $50,000 Top Prize

Lansdowne woman wins with MAGIC 8 BALL™ Bingo game

A MAGIC 8 BALL™ Bingo instant ticket provided a 93-year-old player with the perfect answer to the question poised to Magic 8 Balls everywhere. Was a big win in her future? The answer: “Without a Doubt!” She won $50,000!

The $5 scratch-off gave its first of six top prizes to the Lansdowne woman, who found her lucky game while shopping at her local 7-Eleven. The Baltimore County resident visited Maryland Lottery headquarters with her proud grandson by her side to collect her big win. She plans to keep all news of her good fortune a secret.

Our winner’s lucky retailer has reason to celebrate, too. The 7-Eleven #39352 located at 3023 Hammonds Ferry Road in Baltimore earns a bonus of $500 from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning MAGIC 8 BALL Bingo instant ticket. The bonus is equal to 1 percent of the prize.

There are plenty of prizes remaining in this game, which went on sale around the state on Dec. 30. Players can search for one of nine $10,000 second-tier prizes or hundreds of thousands of others ranging from $5 to $5,000.
