Wins $50,000 Taxes-Paid Prize with Dream Green Scratch-off
The relief on Joshua Ross’ face was impossible to miss as he sat down last week with Lottery officials to talk about his $50,000 win. He’s been though some tough times recently, with money extremely tight and work as a handyman barely keeping him above water. In two day’s time, however, all that changed.
“My girlfriend and I did some grocery shopping and had a few bucks left over,” he told officials. “Driving home I saw a store I knew sold Lottery and decided to stop.” Joshua was feeling pretty good because he’d been offered a new job the previous day. “I wanted to see if the luck would continue,” said Joshua. Among the several games he picked-out was the Dream Green scratch-off.
The couple took the tickets home and Joshua played them as they prepared dinner. “The first part I scratched told me I’d won $50,000. I couldn’t believe my eyes. I passed the ticket to my girlfriend thinking what I was seeing wasn’t real.” A return trip to the store, Lucky’s Superette at 1101 Odenton Rd. in Odenton, confirmed the win and it was only then that he realized that Dream Green was a taxes-paid game.
The Glen Burnie couple loves Miami, having vacationed there several years earlier. With the big win, a new trip is already in the works.
