Wins $50,000 top prize on Lucky Numbers scratch-off
A recently separated father of two who wants a nice place for his kids to come to when they visit now has the means to make that happen. The 38-year-old Baltimore man just won a $50,000 top prize playing the Lucky Numbers scratch-off.
Scratch-off fan Juan Nunez Soto has a regular routine on Saturdays. Juan drives with his two small children to the 7-Eleven at 3500 Boston Street in Baltimore to buy snacks for the kids and coffee and scratch-offs for himself. On the day he won big, Juan purchased three games including two of the $5 Lucky Numbers games and scratched them all off in the car.
“I saw that ‘7’ symbol and could not believe it,” said the winner, who went straight home after revealing the $50,000 win on one of his Lucky Numbers scratch-offs. “I was sure, but I still had my niece double-check it for me.”
Juan then locked his instant ticket in a safe and shared the amazing news with a few family members and friends. The lucky player waited until Monday morning to contact the Lottery’s Customer Resource Center to get details on how to claim a big prize. They informed the construction worker that he needed to come to Lottery headquarters to claim the $50,000 windfall.
Claps and cheers from Lottery officials greeted Juan when he entered the Lottery’s Winner’s Circle. He shared that he would like to use some of the winnings toward a new home so his children will have more space when they visit. Juan plans to save the rest for future expenses.
He is not the only person celebrating his big win. Lucky 7-Eleven #34644 that sold the top-prize winning scratch-off will get a $500 bonus from the Lottery. The Lucky Numbers scratch-off, which went on sale in April, still has four $50,000 top prizes, seven $5,000 prizes and hundreds of thousands of prizes ranging from $5 to $1,000 remaining on the game.
