A Spook-tacular Treat For Severn Woman

Wins $30,000 Top Prize on Blackout Bingo Scratch-Off

Blackout BingoHalloween was definitely a treat for one Severn woman who won $30,000 playing the Blackout Bingo scratch-off.  The 51-year-old, who is a big fan of the Maryland Lottery’s instant tickets, was on her way to her mother’s house when she decided to stop for gas and purchase a few scratch-offs.

She bought a total of four tickets which she scratched upon arriving at her destination. The first ticket was a $2 winner. Without any luck on the next two tickets, she scratched the last one, hoping she’d win a little extra. The little extra was a lot more than she expected.  “I literary threw all my tickets across the room and ran around the house yelling,” she said. Her family stared at her in confusion as she took off running, “I won $30,000!” she screamed. The lucky woman later treated her entire family to dinner.

The single mother-of-two and grandmother-of-three works as a work therapy coordinator at a mental health facility.  She plans to give some of her winnings to her children and invest the rest into her savings. The winning ticket was purchased at Sunflower Shell, located at 8078 Ritchie Hwy. in Pasadena.
