Takes home $30,000 top prize on Lucky Bucks Bingo scratch-off
Harford County resident Janel Hayes is a fan of many different Maryland Lottery games, especially the bingo-themed instant tickets after she won the $30,000 top prize on the Lucky Bucks Bingo scratch-off.
The retail employee found her Lottery luck on a Monday, when she purchased five of the $2 Lucky Bucks Bingo games from Riverside Sunoco Plus in Belcamp. Without thinking much of it, the Aberdeen resident took them home and waited to scratch them off until the next day.
When Janel finished scratching the fourth instant ticket, she noticed that one of the bingo scratch-offs had every number but one scratched off.
“I knew I must have missed a number somewhere because I have never seen a ticket with all but one scratched,” said the 44-year-old. “I saw that missing number and got so excited. I yelled to my husband, Daniel.”
Janel and Daniel immediately began celebrating the big win.
“I have a bad back, but she was grabbing me and we were jumping up and down,” Daniel said. “We were so excited.”
The happy winner and her husband will use some of the prize on a previously planned trip to Florida.
For selling the winning ticket, Riverside Sunoco Plus located at 1319 Riverside Parkway in Belcamp will receive a $300 bonus from the Lottery. The Lucky Bucks Bingo game still has one top prize remaining along with two $10,000 prizes and more than 270,000 prizes ranging from $2 to $1,000.
