Finds top prize on Prize Lines game
We commonly hear the phrase, “no one is perfect,” and a Maryland Lottery scratch-off player is grateful that a Lottery retailer made an error that led to his purchase of a $3 Prize Lines scratch-off. The Westminster man decided to buy the instant ticket after it was selected by mistake by the retailer and rejected by a female customer.
She left the store with the scratch-off she originally selected. The lucky Carroll County man left with what turned out to be a $30,000 winning scratch-off!
“I am truly blessed right now,” he said. “I really needed this so much and I’m just happy someone is looking over me and protecting me.”
The happy winner nicknamed himself “Mr. D & B” for D&B Liquors in Walkersville, where he found his Lottery luck. Is he ever glad he decided to buy the rejected Prize Lines scratch-off!
“I simply said, ‘Oh my God, thank you God!’ ” said the 62-year-old, who plans to put his prize into his business. “I couldn’t believe what just happened. This is truly a blessing!”
The lucky winner’s Lottery retailer, which is located at 8415 Woodsboro Pike in Frederick County, will earn a bonus of $300 for selling the top-prize scratch-off in the game. Prize Lines is still packed with prizes, including four more unclaimed top prizes and thousands of others ranging from $3 to $5,000.
