Annapolis Grandmother Finds Luck Playing LOTERIA™ Grande Game

Claims $50,000 prize on winning scratch-off

All it took was one very lucky LOTERIA™ Grande scratch-off to bring an Anne Arundel County grandmother of four to the Maryland Lottery Winner’s Circle this week.

The lucky lady, who works in commercial cleaning, bought one of the $5 games at Parole Liquors in Annapolis and revealed a $50,000 top prize when she played it.

“I scratched it off in the store,” she said, noting that she didn’t even try to keep her big win quiet. The customers and clerks all shared in the joy of her Lottery luck as the 49-year-old shouted with joy and clapped.

The married mother of two is a loyal Lottery player and said the big prize is going into the bank. She may use some of her windfall to pay off bills, but isn’t sure exactly how she will spend her prize.

Also a winner is her lucky Lottery retailer. Parole Liquors located at 2125 Forest Drive in Annapolis earns a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize scratch-off in the game. The bonus is equal to 1 percent of the prize.

The LOTERIA™ Grande game went on sale in March and still has six unclaimed top prizes available. Players can also search for 11 $1,000 prizes and thousands of other prizes ranging from $5 to $500.
