Wins $100,000 Top Prize on a Money Money Money Scratch-Off
An Annapolis man was smiling wide as he described his plan to buy his first brand new vehicle. He decided to treat himself to a GMC truck after he won a $100,000 top prize on a Money Money Money scratch-off last Friday. “Usually I buy used, and fix them up and spend my paychecks on my family,” said the winner, “I’ve always wanted to buy a new truck.”
The lucky winner, a truck driver for an area fuel company, purchased the ticket when he finished his route in Millersville. “I usually buy my tickets when I take my lunch or at the end of my route,” said the 53-year-old. When he returned home, he scratched his Money Money Money ticket. He couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw one of the matching ‘lucky numbers’ on the ticket had a prize of $100,000. “I had to get my old lady to look at the ticket,” he said.
Family and a few co-workers are already celebrating the win. The man’s oldest sister accompanied him while he claimed the ticket at Lottery headquarters. “If I won that much, I think I’d need an oxygen mask,” she said.
To keep the ticket safe, the lucky winner drove his route with the winning ticket all week – taking the ticket on a winner’s lap of sorts. “I kept the ticket on my clipboard,” he said.
The winning ticket was purchased at the Benfield Wine & Spirit on Headquarters Drive in Millersville.
