Wins a $250,000 prize playing Mega Millions
An Anne Arundel County man is celebrating his 55th birthday in style. Although he played Mega Millions last Friday, he didn’t check his ticket until yesterday, which happened to be his birthday. He received quite a birthday present when he found out he won a $250,000 second-tier prize.
“I’m just so excited,” he said. “I really think it hasn’t sunk in yet. This is one of the best birthdays ever!”

The lucky winner told Lottery officials that this win is the most he’s ever won. “Certainly, I’ve won $500 here and there, but I never expected anything this big,” said the construction worker.
With his prize, the winner plans to donate to charity, pay his mortgage, help family members and save the rest. The winning ticket was purchased at the High’s on West Central Avenue in Edgewater.
